The Project

The property is located in the center of Montecreto, a stone's throw from the Municipality and Via Castello. Gepark took over the ground floor, until now occupied by a bank.

The project includes the conversion into a co-working space available to those who want to elect the village as a temporary or continuous place for their work. For example, Montecreto is located a short distance from the centre of the "Motor Valley", an hour's drive from Maranello, the headquarters of Ferrari, and Modena, the headquarters of Maserati. The co-working will be managed by a specialized company already managing several others throughout the region.

The renovation involves the demolition of some walls and the construction of new partitions to delimit the spaces, the reconstruction of the floors in stoneware, the construction of a new screed in the former thermal power plant, painting and furnishings. In addition, the electrical system will be rebuilt, the wiring and the installation of a server are included, as well as the installation of cameras and a badge system for access control. The installation of an electric charging station outside the building is also planned.

The Village

Montecreto rises 900 meters on a hill, perched around the church of San Giovanni, which dominates the valley of the Scoltenna stream. Located 64 km from Modena, its municipal territory extends along the right side of the valley and goes as far as the peaks of the Rondinara, Cavrile and Cervarola mountains. The town is immersed in chestnut, beech and fir woods, which, in the higher areas, give way to blueberry and raspberry plants.

Montecreto is a pleasant tourist resort to be enjoyed in the summer as a summer resort, while in the winter, tourists are attracted by the winter sports facilities (skiing and skating).

In the village, via Castello, a characteristic fortified road of medieval origin, paved with stone slabs and with buildings adorned with coats of arms and sculptures, climbs the slope to the hill where the castle once stood.
